Joomla! for those of you unfamiliar, is a robust content management application (CMS) that can serve as both a public front-end (Website) and a private administration backend for tasks, content tools and document infrastructure and maintenance.
word press- code is poetryWordPress is a Journaling application (Blog) that, (like Joomla!) offers both a front end Blog style website and a backend administration area.
While both applications share certain capabilities, (both offer varying degrees of blogtools and administrative functions) their individual strengths lie in their principal focus. Joomla! does content management very well and WordPress does blogging very well.
